Mission Statement: To inspire and enable the young people of East Los Angeles and the surrounding communities to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens and to support their families in this effort.
Since 1966, the Salesian Boys & Girls Club of Los Angeles – located within walking distance of more than 13,000 elementary, middle and high school students – has served the Boyle Heights and City Terrace communities by providing positive after-school activities and low-cost alternative programs for thousands of at-risk and economically disadvantaged youth between the ages of 6 and 18.
The Club operates two clubhouses in the eastside of Los Angeles (Boyle Heights and City Terrace) and three school sites for non-school hours programming. We facilitate activities to accomplish St. John Bosco’s mission of helping the youth and their needs for a dignified life. We do this through a safe place to be (home), educational support and enrichment (school), opportunities for spiritual growth (church), and recreational activities for personal growth (playground).
