Hello, dear Salesian Family! In this e-news, we would like to share with you some of the projects that we have been working on these last two months. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this e-news created just for you.

Homeless Children in LA

For the last three or four months, we have been visiting Skid Road just to go and play with the homeless children to give them a moment to just be children.

On this trip, a group of young people from Francisco Bravo Medical Magnet High School collected children's clothing to be given away during this visit. They themselves came to the activity and gave the clothes away after the games.

Gala Invitation - We need your support!

We need your help; we are only 20 days away from our 3rd Annual Gala, and we still have tables available. All the profits from this event will go to continue our work with our community. Your presence is required. If you have not bought your seat yet, please do so now. We will be requesting food options by this Friday. If you need any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact JC Montenegro. If you click on the video, you will be able to see where the Gala will take place.

Youth of the Year Interviews!

This year, we had 13 amazing young people applied for our Youth of the Year award. This is the highest recognition that a young person can receive at the Salesian Family Youth Center. To earn this recognition, they need to fill out an application, write an essay, and be interviewed.

It was amazing to see how the Salesian Family Youth Center has been an integral part of this journey. Many of our young people called the Salesian Family Youth Center their "second home." Our Youth of the Year will share their dreams at the Gala! We will have an especial e-news edition about our Youth of the Year Soon!

Girls Scouts visited the Grammy Museum

Our troop had an unforgettable adventure at the Grammy Museum as part of earning our Musician badge! The girls dove into creativity and fun, enjoying interactive exhibits where they made their own music, rapped, and sang with enthusiasm. It was amazing to see their eyes light up with inspiration as they learned more about the world of music.

Career Readiness Program Graduation

As part of our commitment, we have created the Career Readiness program, where we invite professionals from our community to come and teach our young people. The idea of this program is to give our young people the opportunity to be ready to find a job in the community. A big thank you to all our teachers, and congrats to our young people who finished the program. Feast of St. John Bosco: A Heartfelt Celebration at St. Mary’s Parish!

On January 26, St. Mary’s Parish celebrated the feast of St. John Bosco with joy and gratitude, bringing together the First Communion and Confirmation programs. Despite the rain, the event was a success, featuring jumpers, balloons, and pizza, thanks to our amazing volunteers, donors, and catechists. Fathers Héctor and Shiju also stopped by to greet the children. Together, we reflected on Don Bosco’s message: “Education is a matter of the heart.” Thank you to everyone who made this beautiful celebration possible!
