The story of our swimming pool!

By Jc Montenegro, Ph.D.

Since 2015 when we closed our Wabash Youth Center, we have been thinking about how to keep serving our community. Strategically, we offered to rent our building to two nonprofits that serve young people. Thanks be to God, MAOF and Alma Foundation were looking to serve our community, and things just worked out. Nonetheless, we never rented our pool. The idea was to use the pool for our summer program and eventually open it to the public.

In one of our meetings with JR Dzubak, the Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Club of West San Gabriel Valley & Eastside, we were dreaming about the possibility of serving our community together. Suddenly the idea of opening the pool to the public entered the conversation. It was the perfect opportunity to start a collaboration. We gathered with our team, brainstormed, and executed the plan! And now, we are pleased to invite you to our Aquatic Center Ribbon Cutting! Yes, our dream is coming true.

Please join us for our ribbon cutting this Thursday, September 15th, from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM.

We hope to see you there!
